The Caprese Sandwich

- 4 slices of crusty bread such as ciabatta or sourdough
- 2 large ripe tomatoes sliced
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze for drizzling
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into evenly sized slices. Wash and dry the fresh basil leaves.
Assemble the Sandwiches: Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean work surface. Layer the tomato slices, mozzarella cheese slices, and fresh basil leaves on top of 2 of the bread slices. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle a generous amount of balsamic glaze over the fillings.
Top with Bread: Place the remaining 2 slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
