I’ve tried plenty of breads alongside soup over the years. Some are fine. Some fall apart too quickly. Others are so crusty they fight back.

But sourdough keeps earning its place.

Store-Bought vs. Homemade (and Why I’m Curious)

Good bakery sourdough is wonderful. It’s reliable, familiar, and easy to reach for.

But lately, I’ve been thinking more about making my own.

Not because I need another project … but because sourdough, like soup, feels like something meant to live in the kitchen, not just pass through it.

A starter on the counter.
A routine that develops slowly.
A loaf that changes slightly each time.

It feels like a natural extension of the way I already cook.
