If you’ve found your way here, chances are you like soup too.

Or maybe you just like the idea of soup … the comfort of it, the pace of it, the way it quietly asks you to slow down.

As for me, I should probably say this up front: I really do love soup.

Not in a trendy way. Not in a “let’s optimize this for clicks” way.
I love soup because it’s patient. Forgiving. Familiar.
Because it simmers instead of rushes.
Because it shows up when you’re tired, when you’re sick, when the weather turns, or when you just want something warm and uncomplicated.

Mainly Soup started as a personal challenge, an idea turned into a website, built piece by piece, late at night and in between other creative projects. I wanted to see if I could make something simple and intentional. Something that didn’t need to shout to be heard.

This isn’t a site that promises perfection.
It’s not about flawless plating or culinary credentials.
It’s about food that feels lived-in.

All of that being said, I have decided to revisit this site I created over a year ago (again, on a whim) to take it a step further. With the start of a new year, I have given myself a few challenges, this being one of them. There were a few places that I basically stopped here on this site during the build with the goal of tweaking it later, and well, later is NOW. Once a week for this entire year, I will be working on the site here with tasks like refining things in the back end, perfecting the recipes with nuance, and adding my own photography.

They say that blogging is dead, but I intend to go against the grain full force as I dive BACK IN here 🙂

So on the “Soup Fans” section, here is what you’ll find here over time:

Some posts will be practical.
Some will be reflective.
Some might just be a short note about a pot quietly simmering on the stove.

And that’s intentional.

I want this space to feel like checking in on something familiar. A place you can return to when you’re hungry, or nostalgic, or simply curious about what’s next.

If you love soup, truly love it, you’re in the right place.
Pull up a chair. Something’s always on the stove.
